Campaign Policies

Aligned with Meta Advertising Standards — last updated March 2026

Every campaign created through HailBlitz is submitted to Meta for review. The following policies govern what is and isn't allowed. Please read them carefully — violations may lead to ad rejection or account restrictions.

Personal Attributes & Privacy

No personal-attribute assertions

Ads must not assert or imply knowledge of a viewer's personal characteristics — including race, religion, age, sexual orientation, financial status, disability, medical condition, or criminal record. This applies to direct statements, indirect implications, conditional phrasing, and empathy hooks.

Benefit-focused language

Instead of "Has your roof been damaged?" use outcome-oriented phrasing such as "Expert hail-damage roof inspections available." Shift the focus from the person's situation to the service you offer.

Privacy compliance

Ads must not request or share private user information. Lead forms must not ask for government IDs, financial account numbers, health details, insurance policy numbers, or any sensitive data without prior Meta approval.

Special Ad Categories (Housing)

Housing category required

Roofing, siding, and home-repair ads are classified as housing-related under Meta's Special Ad Categories. You must select the Housing category when creating these campaigns.

Targeting restrictions

Housing ads must use a minimum 15-mile (25 km) targeting radius with no city-level exclusions. Age, gender, and ZIP-code targeting are restricted. Lookalike audiences are not available for housing ads.

Non-discrimination

Ads must not discriminate or encourage discrimination based on race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, disability, or medical condition.

Content Standards

Truthful claims only

All ad copy must be factually accurate. Do not make unrealistic promises such as guaranteed timelines, fabricated before-and-after photos, or inflated savings claims. Misleading content will be rejected and may result in account restrictions.

No sensational or fear-based tactics

Avoid shock imagery, excessive urgency, or fear-driven language (e.g., "Act NOW or lose everything!"). Ads must not contain violent, graphic, or sensational content designed to provoke an emotional reaction.

Profanity and objectionable content

Ads must not contain profanity, adult content, or content that could be considered offensive. All imagery and copy must be appropriate for a general audience.

Intellectual property

Do not use copyrighted images, trademarked logos, or branded content belonging to third parties without proper authorization. This includes stock photos without valid licenses.

Landing Pages & Destinations

Consistent messaging

The product or service promoted in the ad must match what appears on the landing page. Bait-and-switch tactics are prohibited and will result in ad rejection.

Functional destinations

Landing pages must be fully functional, load correctly on all devices, and must not auto-download files or redirect users to unexpected destinations.

No deceptive practices

Landing pages must not employ deceptive UI patterns, misleading countdown timers, fake chat pop-ups, or any tactic designed to trick users into taking unintended actions.

Lead Ads & Data Collection

Prohibited lead-form questions

Lead ads must not request account numbers, criminal history, financial details, government IDs, health information, insurance details, political affiliation, race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, trade union membership, or login credentials without prior written Meta approval.

Use prefill questions

Where Meta provides standard prefill fields (e.g., name, email, phone, date of birth), use those instead of creating custom fields for the same data.

Privacy policy required

Every lead ad must include a link to your company's privacy policy. You are responsible for handling collected data in compliance with all applicable data-protection laws.

AI-Generated Content

Disclosure requirement

Ads containing AI-generated or digitally altered images, video, or audio that could appear realistic must include a disclosure label. Meta may also auto-label content detected as AI-generated.

No deepfakes or misleading media

AI-generated content must not depict real people in misleading scenarios, fabricate endorsements, or create deceptive representations of events, property damage, or repair outcomes.

Ad Review & Enforcement

Automated review

All ads are reviewed by Meta's automated systems before going live. Review typically completes within 24 hours but may take longer. Ads may also be re-reviewed after they are live.

Rejection and appeals

Rejected ads can be edited to comply with policies and resubmitted, or you can request a review through Meta's Account Quality center if you believe the rejection was incorrect.

Account restrictions

Repeated policy violations may result in restrictions on your ad account, Page, or entire Business Account. HailBlitz monitors compliance proactively to help protect your account standing.
